4 BHK Villa Relocation from New Town to Ballygunge
Project Overview
Relocating a luxury home requires much more than simply packing and transporting furniture. Premium residences often contain imported furniture, fragile decorative items, modular interiors, expensive appliances, and valuables that require careful planning and specialized handling.
This project involved relocating a fully furnished 4 BHK villa from New Town to Ballygunge. The client requested a complete end-to-end relocation service, including dismantling furniture, professional packing, loading, transportation, unloading, furniture reassembly, and room-wise placement at the destination.
Before confirming the moving schedule, our relocation team conducted a detailed pre-move survey to evaluate the inventory, understand access conditions, and prepare a customized relocation plan.
Project Information
Initial Home Survey
Two days before the scheduled relocation, our relocation supervisor visited both properties to inspect the inventory and identify any potential moving challenges.
During the inspection, the following items were documented: Premium wooden wardrobes, King-size beds, Imported sofa set, Marble-top dining table, Glass display cabinets, Two LED Smart TVs, Refrigerator, Washing machine, Air conditioners, Modular kitchen appliances, Decorative artwork, Indoor plants, and approximately 110 household cartons.
The destination property also required prior approval for vehicle entry, visitor registration, and service lift booking.
Challenges Identified
Every premium household relocation presents unique operational challenges. For this project, the team identified several important factors before moving day:
Large Premium Furniture: Several furniture pieces were oversized and could not be transported without dismantling.
Fragile Decorative Items: The villa contained glass décor, artwork, mirrors, and designer lighting fixtures that required additional protection.
Society Access Rules: The destination residential complex had fixed service lift timings, security verification, and designated unloading hours.
Monsoon Weather: The relocation was scheduled during Kolkata's rainy season, requiring additional waterproof packing to protect household belongings.
Pre-Move Planning
Following the survey, our operations team prepared a detailed relocation plan to ensure the move could be completed within the approved society timings. Planning included: Complete inventory verification, Furniture dismantling schedule, Packing material estimation, Waterproof packing preparation, Vehicle allocation, Society permission confirmation, Service lift reservation, Parking coordination, Team safety briefing, and Final relocation checklist.
Planning every stage before moving day helped minimize delays during loading and unloading.
Professional Packing Process
Packing started early in the morning according to the planned schedule. Different categories of household goods received different levels of protection depending on their material, weight, and fragility.
Premium Wooden Furniture: Large furniture pieces were dismantled wherever possible before packing. Protection included: Corrugated sheets, Foam sheets, Furniture blankets, Stretch wrapping, and Corner protectors. Each dismantled component was labeled to simplify reassembly after delivery.
Fragile Household Items: Glass cabinets, mirrors, decorative pieces, ceramic items, and artwork required specialized packing. The team used: Five-layer bubble wrapping, Foam cushioning, Reinforced cartons, Edge protection, and Fragile handling labels. Every fragile carton was packed separately and marked for careful handling.
Electronics & Home Appliances: Large appliances and electronic devices were packed individually. This included: LED televisions, Refrigerator, Washing machine, Microwave oven, Water purifier, and Small kitchen appliances. Protective wrapping was applied before loading to reduce movement during transportation.
Loading Process
Loading followed a planned sequence prepared during the survey. Heavy furniture entered the truck first, followed by appliances and packed cartons. Fragile belongings were loaded last to reduce unnecessary movement during transportation.
The loading team used: Furniture dollies, Protective moving blankets, Heavy-duty lifting straps, and Loading ramps. A final inventory verification was completed before the truck departed.
Transportation Strategy
The relocation vehicle departed after confirming weather conditions and traffic updates. A fully enclosed container truck was selected to help protect household goods from rain, dust, and road conditions.
The transportation route was planned in advance to avoid major congestion and ensure timely arrival at the destination. Throughout the relocation, the project supervisor remained in contact with the homeowner and provided regular progress updates.
Unloading & Home Setup
After reaching the destination, our team coordinated with the residential society before beginning unloading. Furniture and cartons were delivered room by room according to the inventory labels prepared during packing.
Services completed at the destination included: Furniture reassembly, Bed installation, Wardrobe assembly, Appliance placement, Dining table installation, Room-wise carton placement, and Final inventory verification.
This systematic approach allowed the family to begin unpacking immediately without reorganizing household items.
