2 BHK Apartment Relocation from Salt Lake to Rajarhat

Project Overview

A local home relocation may cover a relatively short distance, but apartment access, parking restrictions, fragile belongings, furniture handling, and society rules can still make the move challenging.

This project involved relocating a fully furnished 2 BHK apartment from Salt Lake to Rajarhat, Kolkata. The household included wooden furniture, kitchen appliances, electronics, glassware, personal belongings, and approximately 60 household cartons.

The pickup property had limited parking space near the entrance, which meant the team had to plan the loading operation carefully to avoid unnecessary carrying and delays.

Euro Packers & Movers handled the relocation from initial inventory assessment and packing through loading, transportation, unloading, furniture placement, and final inventory verification. If you are planning a similar shift, you can explore our professional services as packers and movers in kolkata for a seamless moving experience.

Initial Site Inspection

Before the relocation was scheduled, our relocation coordinator assessed the pickup and delivery locations to understand the actual moving requirements.

The inspection covered: Household inventory, Large furniture dimensions, Fragile items, Electronic appliances, Kitchen belongings, Floor accessibility, Lift availability, Parking conditions, Loading distance, and Destination entry requirements.

At the Salt Lake property, limited parking space near the building entrance was identified as one of the main operational considerations. The assessment helped our team determine the required manpower, packing materials, vehicle capacity, and loading sequence before moving day.

Project Challenges

Limited Parking at Pickup Location: The moving vehicle could not occupy the entrance area for an extended period. The loading sequence therefore had to be organized so that packed goods could be moved efficiently from the apartment to the vehicle.

Fragile Household Goods: The household included glassware, decorative pieces, mirrors, and other breakable belongings requiring additional cushioning.

Furniture Handling: Beds, wardrobes, tables, and other large furniture pieces required careful handling and, where appropriate, dismantling before transportation.

Apartment Access: Lift access and building movement had to be coordinated to avoid unnecessary waiting during loading and unloading.

Pre-Move Planning

After completing the site assessment, our operations team prepared a practical moving plan. The preparation included: Final inventory confirmation, Packing material estimation, Furniture dismantling requirements, Team allocation, Vehicle scheduling, Loading sequence, Lift and parking coordination, Fragile-item identification, Carton labeling, and Final moving checklist.

The household inventory was divided into different categories so that the packing team could work systematically instead of treating every item in the same way.

Professional Packing Process

Packing was carried out room by room. The team selected materials according to the size, weight, surface, and fragility of individual belongings.

Furniture Protection: Beds, tables, wardrobes, cabinets, and other wooden furniture were protected using corrugated sheets, foam sheets, stretch wrapping film, furniture blankets, and edge protectors. Where furniture could be safely dismantled, it was taken apart before loading to make handling easier and reduce the possibility of scratches during movement.

Fragile Items: Glassware, decorative articles, mirrors, and other delicate belongings were packed separately using bubble wrapping, foam cushioning, corrugated protection, reinforced cartons, and fragile-item labeling. Additional cushioning was placed around vulnerable surfaces and corners.

Electronics & Appliances: Electronic equipment and household appliances were individually protected before being moved toward the loading area. The shipment included items such as an LED television, refrigerator, washing machine, microwave oven, small kitchen appliances, and computer equipment. Protective materials were applied to minimize direct impact and surface contact during handling.

Household Cartons: Clothes, books, kitchen utensils, household accessories, toys, and personal belongings were packed into appropriately sized cartons. Each carton was labeled according to its room or category, which helped the unloading team identify where individual boxes needed to be placed at the new residence.

Loading, Transportation & Delivery

Loading was performed according to the sequence prepared during the pre-move planning stage. Heavy and stable furniture was loaded first after being properly secured, followed by other household items positioned according to weight and fragility. The team used furniture trolleys, moving straps, protective blankets, loading equipment, and corner protection. Fragile cartons were positioned carefully to reduce unnecessary pressure from heavier goods. Before departure, the relocation supervisor completed a final inventory check against the packing list.

A closed-container vehicle was selected for the relocation to provide enclosed transportation during the journey. The route from Salt Lake to Rajarhat was planned according to the expected traffic conditions and property access requirements. The relocation coordinator remained responsible for communication between the moving team and the household throughout the transportation stage.

Upon reaching Rajarhat, the team coordinated the unloading process according to the destination property's access conditions. Instead of placing every carton in one common area, the team followed the room-wise labels prepared during packing. The process included: Room-wise unloading, Furniture positioning, Carton placement, Appliance placement, Furniture reassembly, and Final inventory verification. Large furniture pieces that had been dismantled during loading were reassembled at the destination wherever included in the service plan.

Why This Case Study Matters

A local relocation does not always mean a simple relocation. Parking restrictions, apartment access, furniture dimensions, fragile belongings, and building rules can significantly affect how efficiently a move is completed.

This Salt Lake to Rajarhat project demonstrates the importance of conducting an inventory assessment before moving day and matching the packing and handling method to the belongings being transported.
